ProgramS at johanis' karate school

Brazilian JIU-JITSU

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) teaches students how to stay calm, protect themselves, and use control and escape techniques if a situation goes to the ground.

Jiu-Jitsu at JKS

BJJ is incorporated into our Karate Program. Students learn how to defend themselves while standing and how to respond if they end up on the ground.

Why teach both?

After teaching the two disciplines separately, we decided to put them together into one program. Why? Because karate helps students develop awareness, movement, and standing self-defence skills. BJJ adds ground control and escape techniques. Together, they give students more ways to respond when a situation changes.

Our goal is to teach students to protect themselves, create space, and get back to their feet safely.

Two programs for one price -- How great is that?!
